Following the genius promotion DKNY PR Girl has been doing for the past weeks, if not month, regarding the upcoming DKNY show our expectations were definitely high, but of course once again they were fulfilled!
New York, with its incredible vibe must have certainly been at the back of Donna Karan’s mind while she was designing the collection. It doesn’t really take that much to guess that the city was a major source of inspiration, as there was the iconic yellow cab it the background and in combination with the comfortable, chic vibe the clothes were giving off, I got the feeling of a “Summer in the City” theme.
The collection seemed to be a representation of a New York fashionista’s summer wardrobe and it was certainly one lust-worthy wardrobe! All those flowing, effortlessly chic black and white dresses are all you need to get through the city’s summer heat, while the bolder prints and colours seem ideal for those Hamptons weekends…
Something else that made me extremely happy was to see such a cohesive, inclusive collection!
There were the classic white, black and beige pieces, the kind that you look incredible and feel so good in that they’re guaranteed to stay in your closet for years and years to come!
Then there were the bolder total red or total pink looks, ideal for those occasions when the busy New York girl needs to rush off from work to a dinner or a cocktail party! No time to change? These DKNY outfits will have you looking chic from day to night…
And of course, because it’s not a runway show unless a fashion statement is made, Donna Karan showed us these gorgeous red and blue poppy-print and striped outfits! Eye-catching, daring, extremely fashionable, as well as patriotic. Perfection in other words!
