Vestiaire Collective

Don’t we all have items we wished we had gotten when they were available, but are now sold out or out of season? It might be a certain limited edition bag that’s no longer produced, that Prada jacket that graced the cover of every single magazine or the Isabel Marant tie-dye trousers. Speaking for myslef, two years later, I’m still frustrated for not being able to get my hands on the Miu Miu Spring 2010 shoes (those gorgeous ones with swallows and cats printed all over them) on time! The worst thing is when you spot some other, more proactive lady, who shopped on time and is now parading your item of desire on the streets, resulting in a mixture of envy, hatred and anger from your/our part.

Well the good news is that we no longer have to be so angry for missing out on certain buys. Vestiaire Collective, a website offering second-hand designer items is here to save the day. “So it’s like ebay?” many friends asked when I talked to them about the site and they were right, in the sense that anyone can join and sell their items. What’s different is (and it happens to be a pretty significant difference) that Vestiaire Collective monitors the quality and authenticity of each product before sending them out to you. Another added benefit? The french origins of the site means that what you will mostly find is items from the likes of Maje, Sandro, Isabel Marant, plenty of Chanel and Celine bags and rare Hermes accessories. In other words everything you need to achieve that chic Parisienne look we all lust for.

As you can see, above is a selection of my favourite goodies from the site, which would include those Miu Miu coveted Spring 2010 shoes I was talking about, a pretty stunning pair of sparkly Louboutins and some serious arm candy to include a Chanel BOY, a limited edition electric blue Chanel bag and a very unique striped Balenciaga that I had never seen before. On the clothes front, I loved the selection of IRO on the site, especially that badass leather vest and the classic tweed jacket, no words are enough to describe the black suede Balmain dress I spotted, while if you are a fan of runway it-pieces, there’s some impossible to resist Isabel Marant tie-dye pants and Prada jacket, that also happen to be at a fraction of the price you would have paied a month ago. As for the accessories? Hermes collier de chien belts, some serious Miu Miu bling to dazzle you and so much more.

But don’t take my word for it. Start browsing Vestiaire right now!
